Town of West Sweden- Monthly Meeting

September 17, 2013

Meeting was called to order at 6:30pm.Present at the meeting were Simon Nelson, Chairman; Scott Wilder and Glenn Meier, supervisor; Phyllis Wilder, treasurer; Kevin Taylor, patrolman; and Andrea Lundquist, Clerk. †††

The minutes of the last meeting were presented by the clerk. Corrections include: Don Johnson change to 305th; Beer Can Alley change to 160th. The town board thanked the clerk for the report.

The treasurer presented the monthly report.†† The town board thanked the treasurer for the report.


Public Input:A. Public comment regarding Village of Frederic and our ATV trail donít match up.


Old Business: A. Salt/Sand shed: Simon talked to Dave Wondra at the Village and he spoke with Ken Hackett at the Village, and they are on board.Further discussion in progress.

B.Tractor: The board looked into the cost of getting just a mower to use on our current tractor, and for a Diamond mower it would be $37,500.If the town traded in our existing New Holland mower, the trade value would be $31,000.For a new 2013 John Deere 5115M tractor with Diamond long-arm mower and warranty, after considering this trade value, would be $66,000.A motion to purchase the new John Deere tractor as previously with trade in was made by Glenn, Scott 2nd.All in favor, motion carried.

C. Tree trimming will commence with Luedtke beginning on Benson Rd by Manvile Magnuson and then proceeding to other areas as necessary.Glenn made a motion to approve this tree trimming plan, Scott 2nd.All in favor, motion carried.


Employee/Hwy Report: A. Note that Benson Road is top priority next year (2014).The town will start on TRIP project for Benson Road.


New Business: A Scott attended the recent fire meeting and submitted the financial report from the meeting.††

The next meeting will be Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at 6:30pm.
