Town of West Sweden- Monthly Meeting
October 20, 2015
Meeting was called to order by Simon Nelson at 6:30 pm. Members present
were Glenn Meier and Scott Wilder, supervisors; Kevin Taylor, patrolman, and Phyllis
Wilder, clerk. Resident, Ken Ruhn; Tim
Anderson, Polk County Planning, Wm Johnson.
Tim Anderson, Polk County Zoning office: County accepted the Zoning on September 15,
2015. We have one year to accept the county zoning, and make district changes
to the map and must pass resolution to accept. Tim explained the 11 zoning districts that set
up.
The minutes to the September meeting were presented by the clerk. The board thanked the clerk for the report. Correction speed limit report should be mph,
not mpg as printed.
The financial statement for September was presented by the treasurer.

Public input: Ken Ruhn
questioned signs around Diamond Lake, need was there due to missing signs and
flags as additional cautions.
Employee report: Kevin
reported the signs installed around Diamond Lake. Someone took down the stop sign and put a
barrack across the road on 135th Street which is a dead end
road. Need to contact the towns
association to abandon road. The tree
in Dodd’s yard that will get cut down, Northwestern will reimburse us for the
expense. Graveled the road on 308th Avenue, will be trimming trees
on this road also.
John Taylor will take a look at 345th to do patch and will
prove a quote. Need bounty on beavers, by Wayne Lundeen and Donald West place.
Glenn made the motion to pay $25 per beaver brought to us, Scott 2nd. Joe Wundrow, Mike
Duncan and Joe Schommer will be notified.
Old Business:
A. Salt Sand Update: Polk County doesn’t have price set yet, Trade
River Outfitter’s quoted same price as last year, need about 450 ton of salt
sand for year.
B. Budget adjustment: Motion to
increase levy by 4% was made by Glenn Meier, 2nd by Scott Wilder,
motion carried.
New Business:
A. LRIP Project: Discussion of possible projects: (A) to grind and chip seal 305th
Avenue, which won’t qualify for LRIP. (B)
Monarch quoted $92,000 for work on 160th Street grinding adding
gravel and blacktop (C)
Patch on Grass Lake Road two tenths of a mile. (D) Wedge and overlay from
Amundson’s on Clam Falls Drive to Clam Falls Line approximately four tenths of
a mile. Board agreed to submit paperwork for 160th Street.
B. Budget Review: Glenn motioned to Increase 4 per cent levy, Simon
seconded. Motion carried.
Next meeting, November 18th, 6:0 pm Budget
Hearing, Special Hearing, and then regular meeting.
Correspondence: Wisconsin
Towns Association urging Towns to adopt an Ordinance regarding weight limits on
roads.
All bills approved and paid.
Next meeting will be November 17, 2015 at 6:00 pm. Budget hearing and
Special Town Meeting of Electors prior to regular board meeting.
Motion to adjourn was made by Scott Wilder, 2nd by Glenn
Meier, carried. At 7:55 pm
