Town of West Sweden- Monthly Meeting
March 15, 2016
Meeting was called to order by Simon Nelson at 6:30 pm. Members present
Scott Wilder and Glenn Meier, supervisors; Kevin Taylor, patrolman, Phyllis
Wilder, clerk, and Brenda Tesch, treasurer.
The minutes to the February meeting were presented by the clerk. The board thanked the clerk for the report. Noted from email received from property owner,
purchase price of new truck was $136,210 which included the 7 year warranty.
The financial statement for February
was presented by the treasurer. The board thanked her for the report.
Public input: Brad Olson, 7
year Clam Falls board member, running for county board for our district.
Encouraged us to contact him if we have any concerns.
Employee report: Salt/Sand
shed is being inspected next week. Tractor tire has slow leak in it. 180th
Roads breaking up now are 180th and 300th Avenue. Plow
truck is running fine; the upgrade on the sander operation has to be completed
yet. MSHA training is April 14, in Burnett County from 7:30- 4:30 pm. Fee is
$50 per person, will be sending Kevin and Scott.
A. Mapping Polk County Zoning: Looking at residential-agricultural-5 (RA-5).
Which is meant for mixed of residential and agricultural use. The density is based on an 8 development
units per 40 acres. The next meeting we will be approving the resolution to go
with the county zoning.
B. Old Dump truck: No update at this time. Decided
that we would put it out on bid, with the right to reject or accept any bids. The
deadline for sealed bids by April 15th. Clerk will place ad in the advertiser.
New Business:
A. Weight restrictions: Letter
from Lakes Gas asking if we were going to put any weight restrictions on our
roads. Board has determined that no
restrictions will be posted.
Correspondence: Webinar on
April 13th @ 9am on Zoning 101 Implementing zoning in unzoned towns.
All bills approved and paid.
Next meeting will be April 19, 2016, Annual meeting at 6:30 pm regular
board meeting to follows.
