of West Sweden- Monthly Meeting
May 17, 2016
Meeting was called to order by Simon Nelson at 7:00 pm. Members present
Scott Wilder and Glenn Meier, supervisors; Kevin Taylor, patrolman, Phyllis
Wilder, clerk, and Brenda Tesch,
treasurer. Public: Nick Clobes from Monarch Paving.
The minutes to the April meeting were presented by the clerk. The board thanked the clerk for the report.
The financial statement for April
was presented by the treasurer. The board thanked her for the report.
Motion to amend agenda to opening bids before public input for LRIP
made by Scott, Simon 2nd, carried
A. Open Bids for LRIP project: The clerk opened the one bid received from
Monarch Paving for $57,451.06. for the 160th Street project. Motion to accept the bid was made by Scott
Wilder, seconded by Simon Nelson, vote by roll call, 3 yes, 0 nays, carried.

Employee report: Kevin
talked with Fahrner about the culverts on 310th Avenue that needs
patching, quote was for 9 patches at $100 each.
Board approved additional patches for this road. Removed tires and
garbage along roadways and turned into Friberg’s Gone Green, cost for disposal
was $132.00. Beavers are on 180th
are causing water on the roadway. Resident questioned if we have a bounty on
gofers. Old dump truck is on 35 with for
sale sign on it, no interest so far. The Chevrolet pickup is in need of 4
tires, board advised Kevin to get quotes on tires.
Old Business:
A. Road Inspection: Done
Tuesday, May 3rd at 9 am. Simon, Kevin,
Glenn and Scott traveled all roads in the township. Glenn recommended that
roads get prioritized for repairs and review at the June meeting. Based on the rating of road’s needs , Glenn
made the motion to seek bids to borrow $350,00 for road improvement to be
review at the June meeting, seconded by Scott, carried. The clerk will contact banks for bids.
New Business:
Motion to approve paying of invoices presented, check # 16611- 16621
was made by Scott W, seconded by Glenn M, motion carried.

Next meeting will be June 21, 2016 at 6:30 pm.
