of West Sweden- Monthly Meeting
July 19, 2016
Meeting was called to order by Simon Nelson at 6:30 pm. Members present
Scott Wilder and Glenn Meier, supervisors; Kevin Taylor, patrolman, Phyllis
Wilder, clerk, Brenda Tesch, treasurer.
Public: Wm Johnson IV, Sharon Jorgenson,
Jeff Kemp, and Bobbie Jo.
Move public to top of list was decided to allow candidates their chance
to introduce themselves.
Public input: Jeff Kemp, candidate for District Attorney and
Sharon Jorgenson candidate for County Clerk introduced themselves to the board.
Wm Johnson IV, reported on the safe routes
to school agenda and has been in communication with new Polk County Hwy
Commissioner, Moe Norby regarding pursuing the combined salt shed building.
The minutes to the June meeting were presented by the clerk. The board thanked the clerk for the report.
The financial statement for June
was presented by the treasurer. The board thanked her for the report.
Employee report: Kevin
reported beavers are still a problem on 180th St; Darrell Nyren has
dug out where beaver are plugging up culvert. Plow and sander have been
delivered to Jeff Rousar on consignment, verbally asked $4000 for plow $ 2000
sander. Resident concern over work that had been done close to our road on 135th
by another property owner. Zoning has been checking on this matter. Scott
Construction has been contacted regarding work on 180th Street.

A.
Consignment of sander and plow: Need to get written
agreement.
B.
Adopt resolution to borrow money for road work: Motion to adopt the resolution to borrow
$350,000 for road work from Bremer Bank was made by Simon Nelson, seconded by
Scott Wilder. Voice vote 2 ayes, Glenn Meier abstained. Resolution passed.
C.
Road work status: The board determined to ask for bids for road
work on 305/140th, Clam Falls Drive, 345th Avenue to 140th
Street, 310th Avenue, and 130th Street. Special meeting set for Wednesday, August 4,
2016 at 6 pm to open bids.

A. Salt
Sand shed repairs: Received letter from the Department of
Transportation that our shed wall needs to be repaired, must be compliant by
October 1
Correspondence: Habitat looking for workers for Benson Rd
house, Burnett Cty amending County Comprehensive plan, Polk County holds public
hearing on revisions for Chapter 10 of zoning ordinance.
Review bills/vouchers: Supervisors
reviewed bills and approve payment
Next meeting date: August 16 at 6:30 pm
